Twiglet and Boots, misfit best friends since high school, are living on the edge of things, at the end of things. It’s the last days of a last summer, before Boots goes to work for her mum’s company and their dilapidated rental is demolished by developers. They’re determined to go out with a bang, but with a possum woman marrying their lemon tree, a vagabond Cowgirl officiating the ceremony, and a vulture circling the property, things are bound to get interesting.
Lemon Tree on Dreg Street is an ode to those who slip through the cracks, to chosen family, and the bitter-sweetness of growing up and letting go.
